Some days, even the mightiest wizard has no attention to spare for the
mundane details of life. This spell provides a fine way to avoid them.
If you don't want your landlord barging in asking for back rent while you
are attempting to drive Khalagan the Recalcitrant into your carefully
prepared pentagram, then a hermetic ward on your chamber door will just do the
trick.

A hermetic ward is completely proof against even the most talented thief's
lockpicks. In fact, even if he's nicked the key to your room it will avail
him naught - these magical bonds act completely indepedently of the lock
mechanism to prevent the door from being opened from either side.

The only ways through such a warded door are to wait for the wards to
dissipate or to force the issue with a 'Knock' spell cast by a mage of at
least your own caliber. (You might want to save some mana for one in case
Khalagan proves TOO recalcitrant.) As a side note, astral interference
prevents two different wards from being placed on the same portal. Also,
you can always bypass your own ward.
