The mages of the Ebony Tower were experimenting with calling and summoning evil and it got away from them. They opened a gate that allowed unholy demons to enter our realm. The region turned black with evil magic. Each of the demons have their own familiar guard to protect them, making it more difficult to slay them. The tower has strong bonds to other evil realms in the world, including hell and xanth as well as connections to many of the world's demons. Their evil demon leader is called Djab and he rules with an iron claw.
