Standing as the front lines for the Lower Planes, Avernus is a dilapidated stronghold ravaged by war over millenia. Greatpools of lava bubble about its charred landscape. The air is filled with pockets of voltaile gases and the skies are black as pitch with rolling clouds of various shades of black. Fires of warring parties dot the horizon, disappearing into the ruins of great towers and crumbling walls littered with the bones of ghastly beasts, friends and foe alike.
